wow, you guys have worked very hard on that plot...and we've been there doing the same stuff in the past.
As far as tips for growing locally, i would say the major problem for you will be slugs.
after the extreme winter we've experienced there will be a breeding surge.
In this situation, slugs can grow up to more then a metre in length ... and can be extremely aggressive once the food supply runs low.
Once they have demolished the crop they will then, in desperation, turn on the gardener, sometemes with horrific results.
They also bear grudges! ...... there have been several occassions when they have actually followed hortaculturists that have tried to eradicate them back into Llanidloes and savaged them in unprovoked and terrible attacks...Strangely, these have always taken place outside the National Milk Bar!
Hope this helps, croeso cymru. x

Worked well! We needed far more flour as the tortilla was very sticky at first, though.

Now, if only we can get them vaguely circular...

Hi! Feel free to pop round any time for help with your tortillas, although I'm sure you won't need it, they're easy peesy. Mexican for next house meal sounds top. Yum! See you soon x

What a great website, and cracking idea! I'm definitely going to have a go at this I love tortillas, I'm inspired. I'm not the best cook, (Jon's fab) so I might be banging on your door with flour in my hair begging help! Maybe next house meal we could have a mexican theme?

Hi, I have just watched the River Cottage episode down here in Australia and was really inspired. Congratulations and keep up the good work. I will be on the lookout for plants in our local area.
